Ms Forrester pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to stabbing her daughter. The retired nurse has been ordered to serve 32 months imprisonment by Sheriff Mackenzie. This was discounted as a result of her guilty plea. Sheriff Mackenzie told Ms Forrester: “I understand your life has been grim for a very long time. I recognise this offence was isolated and was fuelled by medication plus alcohol.” It was heard in the Court that the victim in this case had not wished her mother to go to prison. However, the sheriff stated it was “the most serious charge” and therefore she was sentenced to a period of imprisonment.
