A father and his son have been charged after a quantity of a psychoactive substance named Kratom was seized at two airports, one being Edinburgh Airport. Kratom is illegal under the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016. The market value is believed by the Police to have a market value of £60,000. Both men were arrested in Bathgate and have appeared in Court charged with importing the drug, possession of it with intent to supply and have been bailed. Police Scotland worked with the National Crime Agency in order to secure the arrest.
