Mr Cameron has received a life sentence after he was found guilty of attempting to murder two nurses from Northern Ireland outside an Edinburgh hotel in November 2018. He also injured a third man who attempted to assist the women which he pled guilty to. The three people were not known to Mr Cameron and the attack was random in nature. He did admit the attempted murder of one of the women but not the other, although he was found guilty of the offence by a jury after trial. Lady Scott made clear that he must serve at least six years and is now subject to an Order of Lifelong Restriction.  The social work report made clear that Mr Cameron was a high-risk offender and it was made clear he has a number of previous convictions. Lady Scott told Mr Cameron at sentencing: “This was a frenzied and shocking attack on three separate people which came from nowhere.”
