Mr Andrew Early, 22, has been convicted of Rape and attempted Rape at the High Court in Glasgow.

His first victim, was a women who he raped from September 2018 to October 2019. His attacks included while she was asleep. There were also instances where the pair were engaging in consensual sex but Early refused to stop when asked.

His second victim, was a women who he attempted to rape in a vehicle in the carpark of an Aldi Store in December 2019.

Mr Early denied the charged put before him. Despite this, he was found guilty of both charges.

The trial judges labelled Early, “selfish and self-entitled” adding that “you have shown no remorse, regret or empathy. Your focus is on yourself rather than anyone else.”

He has been sentenced to four years in prison at the High Court this week and he will be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

It was stated to Early that had he been older, his sentence would have been significantly more severe. Likely in the range if 5.5 – 6 years. This would have been because he is currently under 25 and as such a sheriff is obliged to consider the Young Person Sentencing Guidelines.
