Sean McLaughlin, 38 a convicted killer has plead guilty to the armed robbery of 2 convenience shops less than 2 months after being released early from prison.
Mr McLaughlin who was under the influence of valium and alcohol stole a charity tin from one shop and threatened to murder the staff of another in Motherwell in 2019.
In delievering the sentence at the High Court in Glasgow, Lady Stacey told McLaughlin “you are a danger to the public.” “You were just out of prison for the culpable homicide in which you were responsible for the death of a friend and it appears you have learned nothing from that.”
Mr McLaughlin was ordered to serve two years of the jail sentence he was released early from before starting his new sentence. Lady Stacey also ordered him to be monitored in the community for three years after his release.
