A trial is ongoing at the High Court in Glasgow as Mr Collins has been accused of murdering a man with a machete, however he states the death was an act of self-defence and he only wanted to scare him. The accused has lodged a special defence of self defence. He admits the death occurred in his presence and the fact he disposed of the remains.
The accused stated when questioned by his defence team that he felt ‘sick’ that he had done this to the victim. The victim’s body was then cut out and disposed of and certain parts were never recovered, others discovered outside the accused’s Paisley flat. The trial before Lady Rae continues next week at Glasgow High Court.
