Scott Smith, aged 34, manipulated young women aged between 15 and 20 to send them intimate photos over snapchat.

Smith then manipulated these victims by demanding that they sent more images under the threat he would release the ones they had previously sent if they did not. 

This offence was revealed to police when they raided his home in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, as part of a separate investigation that discovered 37 images and 26 videos of children being abused. The raid also revealed evidence that Smith had been communicating with these young girls and threatening them. 

He was sentenced to one year in prison in addition to placing him on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and also banned him from contacting his victims for 10 years.
