A 32 year old man, Grant Drummond, appeared in Edinburgh Sheriff Court earlier this week.
He was accused of assault following an altercation on the dance floor at The Hive in Edinburgh. Despite staying out of the initial disturbance, Mr Drummond soon became involved delivering one single punch to Sean Morison.
On his appearance at court, Mr Drummond pled guilty to assault to severe injury and a separate account of threatening or abusive behaviour.
His sentence has been deferred to await for reports.
