Mr David Hall has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison after stabbing a stranger in an unprovoked attack. Mr Hall pled guilty to assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of life. The attack happened in Wester Hailes in April 2018.
The victim was attacked by Mr Hall after coming to the aid of two women that Mr Halls dog snapped at. Judge Lady Rae stated that Mr Hall had 9 previous convictions for carrying an offensive weapon. She further stated that: “Your victim was only trying to help two women. You had two potential weapons with you. Your victim managed to disarm you of the hammer, but you assaulted him with a knife”
