A man has been arrested on the North Lanarkshire area after a suspicious device was found near a polling station which caused it to close. The police attended the scene and carried out a controlled explosion as a precaution. The Chief Inspector has stated: “Inquiries are ongoing and we are keen to talk to anyone that may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around 12 and 1am this morning (Thursday).”
