DIVERSION FOR PROSECUTION CASES RISE
A new report, ‘Criminal justice social work statistics in Scotland: 2018-19’ has confirmed that the number of cases that have been diverted from prosecution and dealt with in a different manner has risen in the last two years between 2017 and 2019. The report also concluded that there has been a drop in the number of community payback orders issued, over eight percent. However, the report confirms that over the period of 2018-2019 there was a success rate of 68% of orders being completed.
