Mr Marshall and Mr Smith have received jail terms after being found guilty of spraying acid on three victims in Cumbernauld last year. The men were found guilty after a Trial at the High Court in Glasgow last month of pouring the acid on the victims to their severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
This attack was said to involve an argument over a drug debts when the men appeared masked at a house party to attack the victims. Both men continue to state they are innocent of this offence. Sentencing took place at the High Court in Aberdeen. Lord Clark stated during sentencing: “The use of acid to attack people is cruel and barbaric and can have particularly damaging consequences, physical and psychological, for the victims.”
