Jonathan Porter aged 49 was caught by police following online discussions with an undercover operative. The accused was convicted for planning to rape and sexually assault a school girl.

Mr Porter believed that he was speaking to the nanny of an 11-year old girl however this was not the case. Over a period of time he described his interest in meeting with a girl whom he would perform sexual acts with. It was then agreed that he would carry these acts on the child before Christmas 2019.

During the investigation it was found that officers discovered that the accused had taken a number of indecent images of children of a very young age. One of the images recovered was an image he sent to an individual which had written “kiss me” on a child’s bottom.

Mr Porter was convicted for planning to rape and sexually assault a child under the age of 13 alongside distributing indecent images of children.

He is currently been sentenced to four years and nine months in prison and is on the sex offenders register.
