Mr Sidebottom has appeared at his trial at Aberdeen High Court charged with the murder of 67 year of Brian McKandie in March 2016. Mr Sidebottom denies the murder and robbery of the man in his Aberdeenshire cottage.
A prosecution witness has told the court he saw the victim with two men on the day in question and the victim looked like he was trying to protect his home and looked “white and shocked”. Mr Sidebottom however has lodged special defences of alibi and incrimination. The trial is now on day 14 and continues infront of Lord Uist.
