Mr Rennie and Mr Wright have been given custodial sentences of seven years and six years and nine months respectively over the abduction and attack of a fourteen year old boy in Renfrew. The co-accused were both found guilty at Glasgow High Court last month.
Mr Rennie was only released from prison the week before the attack took place. The attack happened in January 2018 when the boy was attacked outside a local shop. The Boy was thereafter taken to a flat, attacked and robbed. The Crown stated the incident was fast moving and terrifying for the young boy. Lord Buchanan presiding over the case stated: “You subjected your victim – a 14 year-old boy – to a terrifying ordeal.” The Judge further pointed out the long records of both men and stated they were of high risk of future offending.
