A 17 year old girl who was found guilty of murdering a teenage boy at a party last month at Glasgow High Court has received a life sentence. Lord Arthurson at Edinburgh’s High Court ordered the girl to spend at least 16 years behind bars.
The judge stated: “Your attack upon him was deliberate, brutal, unprovoked and entirely murderous, and this murder was committed by you at the age of 17 when you were still a child, while you were under the influence of cocaine and alcohol.” The young woman’s defence team stated how the young woman, who cannot be named, knew she had caused “devastation.” However, Lord Arthurson stated he did not believe this was truthful.
