Anthony Gibson, a convicted rapist, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for a 17-year campaign of abuse against four women. The crimes, which occurred between 2006 and 2023 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, and South Lanarkshire, involved ten charges, including rape, assault, and stalking. One victim was pushed onto a road, narrowly avoiding oncoming traffic. Judge David Young KC noted the severe psychological harm caused to the women and considered a lifelong restriction order but ultimately imposed a lengthy sentence instead. In addition to his prison term, Gibson will be monitored for six years following his release. The court also issued indefinite non-harassment orders against him, banning contact with three victims and a 20-year order for the fourth woman.
