An East Kilbride man has told the jury at Glasgow High Court that he stabbed his friend by accident. Mr Shannon denies murdering his friend, Mr Borland, by stabbing him in the back. On the 14 May 2017 an argument started in Mr Shannon’s home. Mr Shannon claims that the victim grabbed a knife during an argument and when he tried it get it off him he accidently stabbed him in the back during a struggle.
He claims he panicked, he is not a violent person and it was all an accident; however, this was not told to anyone at the scene nor the 999 operator. Mr Shannon told the Court: “I didn’t murder him. I’m not a murderer.” The trial continues at Glasgow High Court.
