Graeme Scott pled guilty at Dumbarton Sheriff Court to preying on two women. The behaviour included threatening to rape one of them and sending intimate photos of the other woman to her young daughter.

The case was initially heard in the sheriff court; however, was sent to the High Court in Glasgow for sentencing.

Scott had previously been convicted of sexually aggravated behaviour towards four children. He previously pled guilty to a number of charges which included sending indecent communication, threatening behaviour and threats of sexual violence. The crimes were committed between 2019 and 2021.

Scott contacted the woman via Instagram under a false name. Messages were exchanged and he continuously requested that she send intimate photos. The woman agreed to do so and he then threatened that he would contact her partner and publicly post the images if she stopped.

The woman blocked Scott; however, he then contacted her 11 year old daughter and stated: “Do you want to see what your mum has been doing?”. He then sent the intimate images of the woman to her daughter.

The court also heard that Scott threatened to stab, slash and rape the other woman. He pestered her with messages and telephone calls over several weeks. Scott also made sexual comments about the woman’s daughter.

Lord Arthurson sentencing Scott stated: “The offending was very much towards, in my view, the highest levels of gravity for non-contact sexual offending. It is obvious that you committed this in order to obtain perverted, sexual gratification without any regards to the serious harm inflicted on your victims.”

The Criminal Justice Social Work Report stated that it was unlikely Scott had any real remorse. He was sentenced to six years imprisonment.
