Christopher McGowan denies killing Claire Inglis at her flat in November 2021.

Procurator Chris Fyfee KC said in his closing speech that “Ms Inglis death was no mystery” meaning that it was a brutal attack and there is only one personal responsible for this.

A special defence of self defence was also withdrawn from McGowan’s legal team ahead of the closing speech at the High Court in Stirling.

Mr Fyfee explained that Ms Inglis had died in her bedroom and had sustained a blunt-force trauma. The victim was left almost naked on her bedroom blood with visible and significant injuries to her arms and legs.

Paul Nelson KC, defending noted in his closing speech that it was a “profound tragedy” however was clear that gossip had decided that the accused was guilty without the need for a Trial.
