A 56-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a man at a house in Glasgow.
James Brennan is accused of killing 46-year-old John Cameron at a house in Stonebank Grove in Castlemilk on Friday.
He is also charged with assaulting Marissa Murphy at the same house, last week.
He made no plea or declaration at Glasgow Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody.
Court papers claim Mr Brennan did “repeatedly strike” Mr Cameron, 46, on the head and body with “a hammer or similar instrument” to his severe injury, and murdered him.
A second charge of assault claims Brennan struck Miss Murphy with “a hammer or similar instrument” on the head to her injury.
He is expected to appear for a full committal hearing next week.
