Mr Cunningham, a former police officer, who was found guilty of sexually abusing three women has been jailed for 14 years. A trial took place at the High Court in Glasgow where Mr Cunningham was found guilty. Lord Armstrong described Cunningham as “controlling and coercive”. Mr Cunnigham was found guilty of the rapes of two of the woman and sexual assaults in relation to a third.
All of the offences took place in Inverness. Mr Cunningham who denied the offences throughout the trial stated through his legal team that he now questions some of his behaviours. Mr Cunningham was also placed on the sex offenders register.
