Mr Callum Phillips, aged 49, has been convicted of causing the death by dangerous driving.
He was the bus driver driving a Rangers Football Bus to a football match in October 2016 when he caused an accident that resulted in Ryan Baird’s death. Mr Phillips has been a bus driver for 27 years. Mr Phillips was driving at speeds of 73mph shortly before the crash, on a 50mph zone for buses.
Other bus passengers described the journey as “like a rollercoaster” and noted Mr Phillips careless driving. Other passengers were also seriously injured. Judge Lady Stacey at the High Court in Glasgow ordered background reports and told Mr Phillips: “Do not get your hopes up about the sentence.”
